Hello, World! I’m finally blogging again! After a couple of years of not being able to do much with my
sacred LDS music, beginning this last November, 2012, new music and lyrics began flowing again and
coming almost too rapidly for me to keep up with the creative inspiration. This is the reason so many
new songs have been put up on the first page of my website under News and Highlights.
Three new original Christmas songs came to me prior to Christmas, just in time for the season:
“Christmas Promises”, “ Did You Hear the Angels Singing?”, (for SATB Choir and free sacred sheet
music), and the one that seems to be many peoples’ favorite, “Christmas Peace”, a duet or two part
choral number, which was recorded by my youngest son, Jacob, and his wife, Jessica, (who have been
married now for just over one year). It was a joy recording their beautiful voices that blend so perfectly
Next I wrote a new, nontraditional hymn arrangement of, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” for duet or
two part Choir. Jacob and Jessica have also recorded this one, and the recording will soon be up on my
website. This is free LDS sheet music about testimony, Jesus Christ’s resurrection, and the comfort of
Christ’s Atonement in our personal lives.
Several years ago I wrote a new solo or duet nontraditional arrangement of “The Lord’s Prayer”, which
was recently recorded and which my Webmaster put up on my ldssacredsongs website. This is such a
beloved New Testament text with a versatility enabling it to be performed in sacrament meetings, stake
conferences, funerals, and concert settings.

Merry Christmas

December 10th, 2010

I love Christmas! I especially love the sacred music this season brings, because it bears witness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There is something magical about hearing the voices of little children singing Christmas songs. Years ago I directed a children’s performance group consisting of three different age groups. For the youngest group of children to sing at the first Christmas concert, I wrote a short, delightful little song, entitled, “One Bright Star“. I decided to put it on my website this Christmas, and so I asked my adorable little 5 year old granddaughter, Lindsy Sue to learn and record it. Every time I listen to her singing this song, it makes me smile, because Lindsy is like a bright, shining star. She has been singing and amazing listeners since she was barely three years old. At just age four, she also recorded “Nowhere Else On Earth”, found in the children’s album and in Volume Two.

Joseph Smith Choir Arrangements

May 29th, 2010

It has come to my attention that  both songs, “This Is Joseph” and my arrangement of “Praise To The Man“, about Joseph Smith, need to pull up when a person is looking for an LDS  song about the prophet Joseph Smith. I bear my witness that I know  he was a true prophet of God and that he restored the true Church of Jesus Christ to the earth!

The Rock of Our Redeemer“, another recent conference talk about peace, was beautiful and comforting. “Through The Prince of Peace” in Volume One, “So Will I Comfort You“, compliments this talk so perfectly.

Conference Talks

May 26th, 2010

I loved the April 2010 General Conference talks, and I am gaining so much from reading at least part of a conference talk every morning, after I read in the Book of Mormon. I especially loved Russell M. Ballard’s talk, entitled, “Mothers and Daughters” and his talk two years ago, “Daughters of God“, (found in the May 2008 Ensign, p.g 108-10); and realized that my song, “Daughters of God Above“, complimented these beautiful  talks perfectly. This Mother’s Prayer  and Young Women’s Mission  are also a perfect compliment to these talks.

A terrible tragedy occured here in Utah, where an innocent little boy was tortured, killed, and his little body desecrated by his stepfather and mother. Every decent person has been affected and appalled that such a crime could ever take place!  We all pray for comfort and understanding. The world needs to listen to the words of this beautiful song, “Jesus Loves The Precious Little Children.” Let us all protect and watch over the Lord’s little ones.

April 13th, 2010

My heart is rejoicing this morning, because our youngest son is returning this Friday from his mission to Hong Kong. What a happy reunion it will be! It makes me think about the wonderful reunion we will have, when if we repent and live righteously, we return into our Heavenly Father’s arms.  Also, how grateful we  should all be for our Savior’s resurrection, which makes it possible for all of us to live again after death. What glorious reunions we will have with those of our loved ones, who have passed on to the other side! One morning a few years ago, I awakened early on a spring morning, hearing the birds singing their little hearts out, just outside my bedroom window.  The melody and lyrics to a beautiful, new song began streaming into my mind. “Joy Cometh In The Morning” was born that day. It’s an inspired song about the resurrection and will be coming out, as part of Volume Three, “Believe In Christ”, within the next couple of weeks.

Happy Easter to one and all! I bear my witness to the world that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ lives! I know this! I also know that because He lives, we too, will be resurrected. Take a few moments to listen to and read the lyrics to Easter/Millennial Hosanna, That Easter Morning, I Know That My Redeemer Lives, and He Sent His Son.
