My heart and prayers go out to the people of Haiti. . . Today I’m just grateful to be alive! I’m also grateful for the simple things, as well as for the amazing inventions that make life pleasant and convenient; such as a warm home, indoor heat, electricity, and plumbing, clean water to drink and fresh air to breathe, the beauties and blessings of nature and for my five senses to enjoy them, for health and strength and for God’s divine protection. I am thankful for loved ones and the love we share. I am grateful for freedom of religion and speech. Most of all, I am thankful for my loving, kind, merciful Heavenly Father, to whom I can pray and receive answers to my prayers and for His beloved Son, Jesus Christ and His redeeming love. Oh, how grateful I am for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for the light and joy it brings into my life; for my testimony, for the scriptures, for the Priesthood of God, and for the blessings of the temple. Listen to “Thanksgiving“, which sings of this truth: that all good things come, because of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I wrote “Humble Prayer” the day of 9/11. ~ Found in Vol. One, “So Will I Comfort You”, (the Songs of Holiness Series), it also expresses my feelings about the tragedy in Haiti.

Our wonderful, eldest son became extremely fatigued and mysteriouly ill, beginning on New Year’s Eve; getting steadily worse for the following 6 days. He took two trips to the doctor, two trips to the hospital emergency, and underwent all kinds of tests to determine what was wrong with his body. All of the tests came out negative, and yet at one point, his entire left side became numb, and after that, he went into shock. He felt like his life was literally slipping away. Through family fasting and prayer, having his name on many temple prayer rolls, and through Priesthood blessings, (particularly the blessing of healing his Bishop and his counselors gave him), the illness left his body, and he has regained his strength. His is the unique voice you hear singing, “Priesthood Power“. Now, more than ever, he is a witness of Priesthood power. This song is found in my Young Women/Young Men Album, as well as in Volume Two, “The Hope Of His Glory“.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL! May this be a year of good health, prosperity, and especially, a year of growing closer to the Lord and of greater spiritual growth than ever before. May we strive with all of our hearts to strictly keep the commandments of God ~ as our #one New Year’s resolution. Listen to “A Holier People We’ll Be” and “Temple Blessings“.
I rejoice in the blessing of being able to bear my personal witness that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God! As the Book of Mormon states in Mosiah 16, verse 9: “He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkenend; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.” I love the Book of Mormon! May we also commit to prayerfully read and study its pages. As a second witness of Jesus Christ, it bears witness to the world! If you haven’t been to lds.org lately, you really need to go see all of the wonderful new content. Their online Scriptures are excellent!
