BEARING WITNESS

Friday, January 1st, 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL! May this be a year of good health, prosperity, and especially, a year of growing closer to the Lord and of greater spiritual growth than ever before. May we strive with all of our hearts to strictly keep the commandments of God ~ as our #one New Year’s resolution. Listen to A Holier People We’ll BeandTemple Blessings.

I rejoice in the blessing of being able to bear my personal witness that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God! As the Book of Mormon states in Mosiah 16, verse 9: “He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkenend; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.”  I love the Book of Mormon! May we also commit to prayerfully read and study its pages. As a second witness of Jesus Christ, it bears witness to the world! If you haven’t been to lds.org lately, you really need to go see all of the wonderful new content. Their online Scriptures are excellent!

SONGS ABOUT HOME AND FAMILY

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

VOLUME  TWO of  The Songs of Holiness Series, THE HOPE OF HIS GLORY, is about to be put up on my website.  Hurray!!! I am so excited about this, because for a long time, there have not been enough songs about home and family and because the Primary theme and program this year have  been centered around the family.

Each song has mainly to do with these themes and with women’s roles, the importance of little children, motherhood, the blessings of the Priesthood and the temples and how they bless our families, and returning to our Heavenly Home: I Pray For A Home, Jesus Loves The Precious Little Children, Daughters of God Above, Music Sweeter (Than We’ve Ever Heard), Home Again, This Mother’s Prayer, While I May, Forever With My Family, Nowhere Else On Earth, Please Bless The Children, Priesthood Power, Of Such Precious Worth, Because of The Love, Young Women’s Mission, and Blessed Am I.

I Love The Scriptures!

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Extremely grateful for the sriptures, I am especially thankful for the Book of Mormon, because countless times in my life, from reading in this inspired book, I have been  comforted, sustained, and strengthened during difficult times. I echo my testimony, along with Elder Holland’s, borne in October General Conference, “The Book of Mormon is true!” I also know, without doubt, that our kind, gracious, loving Heavenly Father is a God of miracles! Another thing I know, is that inspirational sacred music has more ability to uplift and comfort us,  when it is referenced to the Lord’s holy scriptures. The Songs of Holiness, Volume One, “So Will I Comfort You“,  and Volume Two, “The Hope of His Glory”,  are fully referenced to the scriptures, and through studying these scriptural references, hearts have been softened; thus allowing the Spirit of the Lord to penetrate and inspire, guide and direct.

Why the title, “Songs of Holiness”?

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Because the gospel concepts in each song within these seven volumes are fully referenced to the holy scriptures. There is no better way to become holier ~ than to know and live the word of God, as given in His holy scriptures.

Safe At Home

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

Every family member should be “safe at home” ~ safe from  destructive criticism, safe from unrighteous judgement, safe from verbal and physical abuse, safe from predators, safe from evil influences; and the list could go on and on. We need to have holier homes, where our Heavenly Father’s Spirit can dwell freely. To do this, we must fortify our homes and block the worldly, ugly things from entering in, so that when each family member steps across the threshold, they feel a protective shield enveloping them and pure, unconditional love encircling them. Volume Two of The Songs of Holiness Series is now in the process of being recorded, and the scriptural referencing completed. Its main theme centers around home and in going back to our Heavenly Home. Listen to “I Pray For A Home” in Volume One and also the Choir Arrangement Album. Have you listened, yet, to “Nowhere Else On Earth” in the Primary and Children’s album?

TEMPLE BLESSINGS

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

I have a very strong testimony, regarding the blessings which come into our lives, from attending the Lord’s temples.  I also possess a firm conviction that answers to prayers and miracles are sent directly from Heaven, when names are placed, (with faith), upon the temple prayer rolls. In essence, the temples are like a part of Heaven here amidst us, upon this darkened earth. We have experienced many miracles in our family, from faithfully attending the temple and from family members’  names being on the prayer rolls of the temple.

Listen to my latest song, “Temple Blessings”,  found in my FREE Music album, & the Relief Society album, (for a limited time, only), because this song will be in Volume Two of The Songs of Holiness Series.

*(I was inspired to add a new verse and a bridge to the original version. Hopefully, it will be on the website by this weekend,  Aug. 9th. Those of you, who have already downloaded the sheet music, may have wondered why the recording differs from the written music. Well, this is the reason.)

Rich Blessings For Sabbath Day Observance

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I’ve just written and recorded a beautiful, new song, sung by my oldest daughter, Stephanie, about the blessings that come from keeping the Sabbath Day holy.  Entitled, “A Holier People We’ll Be“, the lyrics state this truth: “All that we need will be ours“. During these tough times, isn’t this a wonderful promise? What specific blessings have you experienced, through keeping the Sabbath Day holy?
