I’m excited! Our son, Jacob, who has been serving on a mission in Hong Kong, will be returning home in just one month. Although I’ve missed him so much, I have been very grateful for this growth experience for him. He spoke Cantonese for the majority of his mission, but for the past few months, has spoken English, while serving in the International Branch; which he has enjoyed immensely. He says the people are humble and anxious to hear and learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jacob is a walking miracle, because prior to his mission call, he was struck with cancer. The Lord healed him and allowed him to serve this mission. Listen to my arrangement of “I’ll Go Where You Want Me To Go” in my Free Hymn Arrangements Album.

My heart and prayers go out to the people of Haiti. . . Today I’m just grateful to be alive! I’m also grateful for the simple things, as well as for the amazing inventions that make life pleasant and convenient; such as a warm home, indoor heat, electricity, and plumbing, clean water to drink and fresh air to breathe, the beauties and blessings of nature and for my five senses to enjoy them, for health and strength and for God’s divine protection. I am thankful for loved ones and the love we share. I am grateful for freedom of religion and speech. Most of all, I am thankful for my loving, kind, merciful Heavenly Father, to whom I can pray and receive answers to my prayers and for His beloved Son, Jesus Christ and His redeeming love. Oh, how grateful I am for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for the light and joy it brings into my life; for my testimony, for the scriptures, for the Priesthood of God, and for the blessings of the temple. Listen to “Thanksgiving“, which sings of this truth: that all good things come, because of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I wrote “Humble Prayer” the day of 9/11. ~ Found in Vol. One, “So Will I Comfort You”, (the Songs of Holiness Series), it also expresses my feelings about the tragedy in Haiti.
How grateful we should be, every day of our lives, for all of the tender mercies and blessings our kind Heavenly Father sends down to us. Feeling overwhelmed with gratitude, I wrote a new song the other day, entitled: “Thanks Giving“. It’s my FREE GIFT to you. Also, if you’ve always loved the little primary song, “I Have A Little Gospel Light“, and haven’t been able to find it anywhere, here is another FREE GIFT for you: a delightful, new arrangement to teach your little children.
Extremely grateful for the sriptures, I am especially thankful for the Book of Mormon, because countless times in my life, from reading in this inspired book, I have been comforted, sustained, and strengthened during difficult times. I echo my testimony, along with Elder Holland’s, borne in October General Conference, “The Book of Mormon is true!” I also know, without doubt, that our kind, gracious, loving Heavenly Father is a God of miracles! Another thing I know, is that inspirational sacred music has more ability to uplift and comfort us, when it is referenced to the Lord’s holy scriptures. The Songs of Holiness, Volume One, “So Will I Comfort You“, and Volume Two, “The Hope of His Glory”, are fully referenced to the scriptures, and through studying these scriptural references, hearts have been softened; thus allowing the Spirit of the Lord to penetrate and inspire, guide and direct.
Today we attended the funeral of a young friend and mother of five; just 31 years of age and who passed away from Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I was deeply moved, as her four oldest children, her brothers and sisters, and even her mother gave beautiful tributes to her. And then her strong, supportive husband spoke of her courage, faith, and gratitude and uplifted all of us with his unwavering testimony. Her blogspot is inspirational: amberchase.webly.com. Her mother told how Amber was strengthened by the hymns and comforted by the beauty of music. For the opening song, the congregation sang, “There Is Sunshine In My Soul Today”; which fit Amber’s personality perfectly. I’ve been inspired to do an arrangement of this hymn, because it’s also one of my favorites. Look for it soon in my Free LDS Sheet Music and Free Hymn Arrangements. This evening, in honor of Amber’s children, I recorded an arrangement of “I Have A Little Gospel Light”, which will be in my Primary and Children’s Album.
I’m truly indebted to Joe Billman, the person who developed and designed, and who manages this amazing website. He also created the Scripture Mastery Widget, which you can download for free and put on your own website. What a great way to memorize and internalize these important scriptures.
Another important person I need to recognize and thank immensely, is my wonderful son, Norman Bagley, who is an IT Specialist. Without all of his expertise in keeping our computers and recording equipment running efficiently, none of the music would even be on my website in the first place.
My Web Developer, Designer, Programmer, and Manager is my fantastic Son in Law, Joseph Billman! Without him, none of this would be possible! This website was totally created by him and his genious. It’s such a miracle! I can’t even begin to thank him enough for all that he has done!
Happy Easter! I am grateful for my blessings! To name just a few: a loving family, the miracle of this website, a beautiful, new little granddaughter, a son, who had cancer and is well now and serving on a mission in Hong Kong, knowing that I’ll see my loved ones again who have passed away, and especially the Atonement of Jesus Christ and His and my Heavenly Father’s love and mercy for me. What specific blessings and miracles are you thankful for in your lives during this Easter season, 2009? Even though these are difficult times, there is always so much to be thankful for ~ and remembering to count these blessings and to thank the Lord for them fills us with a positive outlook and happy feelings of hope and faith.
