Merry Christmas
Friday, December 10th, 2010I love Christmas! I especially love the sacred music this season brings, because it bears witness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There is something magical about hearing the voices of little children singing Christmas songs. Years ago I directed a children’s performance group consisting of three different age groups. For the youngest group of children to sing at the first Christmas concert, I wrote a short, delightful little song, entitled, “One Bright Star“. I decided to put it on my website this Christmas, and so I asked my adorable little 5 year old granddaughter, Lindsy Sue to learn and record it. Every time I listen to her singing this song, it makes me smile, because Lindsy is like a bright, shining star. She has been singing and amazing listeners since she was barely three years old. At just age four, she also recorded “Nowhere Else On Earth”, found in the children’s album and in Volume Two.
LISTEN WORLD!
Wednesday, May 19th, 2010A terrible tragedy occured here in Utah, where an innocent little boy was tortured, killed, and his little body desecrated by his stepfather and mother. Every decent person has been affected and appalled that such a crime could ever take place! We all pray for comfort and understanding. The world needs to listen to the words of this beautiful song, “Jesus Loves The Precious Little Children.” Let us all protect and watch over the Lord’s little ones.
HAPPY EASTER!
Sunday, April 4th, 2010Happy Easter to one and all! I bear my witness to the world that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ lives! I know this! I also know that because He lives, we too, will be resurrected. Take a few moments to listen to and read the lyrics to Easter/Millennial Hosanna, That Easter Morning, I Know That My Redeemer Lives, and He Sent His Son.
Choral Edition, Volume Three
Friday, March 26th, 2010Those of you, who are searching for new sacred choir music, will be excited about my next new volume, “Believe In Christ”; which is forthcoming within the next couple of weeks. An album full of exciting new, original SATB and SSA musical gems, some of the songs are suitable for ward choir and sacrament meeting performance, and others will be thrilling numbers, when performed by larger SSAATTBB choirs in Stake Conference and larger settings. All of these pieces have two things in common: They are scripturally and doctrinely correct, and they bear witness of the Savior’s truths. This new upcoming volume differs from the other ones, in that scriptural referencing and vocals will not be present. However, piano recordings of each piece will give everyone a good idea of tempo and interpretation. These sound recordings will be attached to each song purchased, for the price of the sheet music alone. Then, hopefully, people will be honest, by purchasing additional .50 copy licenses for the number of copies they need for choir performance.
FUNERAL MUSIC IDEAS
Thursday, March 18th, 2010I’ve noticed that people are always searching for funeral songs. Here are some very good ideas ~ to be found on my website: “Abide With Me, Tis Eventide“, “Precious Savior, Dear Redeemer“, “Because of The Love“, (in Vol. Two, “The Hope Of His Glory”; sung by my daughters Stephanie and Melissa), and “Pastoral Psalm“, (many peoples’ favorite and a new arrangement, using the lyrics to “The Lord Is My Shepherd”). One of my upcoming volumes will consist strictly of funeral songs.
HARMONIOUS MUSIC ABOUT HOME AND FAMILY
Thursday, March 18th, 2010
“Music, Sweeter Than We’ve Ever Heard” was written especially for my daughter Melissa’s rich, mellow voice. It is found in Volume Two, “The Hope of His Glory”. And don’t forget about “I Pray For a Home“, for which I just added a FREE flute part.
INSPIRATIONAL YOUNG WOMEN MUSIC
Thursday, March 18th, 2010Listen to “Daughters of God Above” ~ and read the lyrics to this song, so beautifully sung by my daughter Stephanie. It was inspired.
ONE MONTH AWAY! YEA!
Thursday, March 18th, 2010I’m excited! Our son, Jacob, who has been serving on a mission in Hong Kong, will be returning home in just one month. Although I’ve missed him so much, I have been very grateful for this growth experience for him. He spoke Cantonese for the majority of his mission, but for the past few months, has spoken English, while serving in the International Branch; which he has enjoyed immensely. He says the people are humble and anxious to hear and learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jacob is a walking miracle, because prior to his mission call, he was struck with cancer. The Lord healed him and allowed him to serve this mission. Listen to my arrangement of ”I’ll Go Where You Want Me To Go” in my Free Hymn Arrangements Album.
